asamisimasa

asamisimasa was formed in Oslo in 2001. Today the ensemble consists of Janne Berglund (soprano), Rolf Borch (clarinet), Håkon Mørch Stene (percussion), Anders Førisdal (guitar), Ellen Ugelvik (piano) and Tanja Orning (cello).

The ensemble combines performances of the classical repertoire and 20th century avant-garde with new pieces especially written for them, also including electronics, video and other media.
asamisimasa has premiered more than 50 works by composers including Aldo Clementi, Laurence Crane, Brian Ferneyhough, Michael Finnissy, Clemens Gadenstätter, Bryn Harrison, Nicolaus A. Huber, Sven Lyder Kahrs, Johannes Kreidler, Alvin Lucier, Ole-Henrik Moe jr., Helmut Oehring, Trond Reinholdtsen, James Saunders, and Øyvind Torvund and has close collaborations with Helmut Lachenmann, Mathias Spahlinger, Simon Steen-Andersen, and others.
asamisimasa has performed concerts and appeared in radio broadcasts across Europe. Festival appearances include Huddersfield, Darmstadt, Ultima, Stockholm New Music, 2 Days and 2 Nights, Ultraschall, Borealis, among others
